NAMI Spokane Trainings

NAMI Spokane provides a range of trainings aimed at helping community organizations and stakeholders deepen their understanding of mental health, develop personal wellness strategies, and equip organizations with the tools needed to support mental wellness in their communities.

Our mission is to strengthen NAMI Spokane’s role as a trusted resource by fostering collaborative partnerships, engaging meaningfully with the community, and offering training that meets the needs of participants. Through these efforts, we seek to enhance knowledge of NAMI Spokane’s services and reduce the stigma around mental health challenges.

Ending the Silence

Our Ending the Silence training is designed for middle and high school students. Our interative presentation helps audience members learn about the warning signs of mental health conditions and what steps to take if you or a loved one are showing symptoms of a mental health condition. Students walk away understanding warning signs, facts and statistics and how to get help for themselves or a friend.

See Me

See Me is a presentation designed for community organizations and groups to improve understanding of mental health conditions. The presentation covers common signs and symptoms, strategies for supporting someone with a mental health challenge, and tips for maintaining your own well-being. The session concludes with a powerful personal story of recovery from someone living with a mental health condition.

CALM

CALM is a presentation designed for community members who may encounter someone experiencing a mental health crisis. It provides practical tools to help assess the situation and safely de-escalate. CALM stands for Communication, Assess, Listen, Mediate, offering a straightforward approach to supporting individuals in crisis while maintaining a calm and compassionate environment.

In Our Own Voice

NAMI In Our Own Voice presentations change attitudes, assumptions and ideas about people with mental health conditions. These free, 40-, 60- or 90-minute presentations provide a personal perspective of mental health conditions, as leaders with lived experience talk openly about what it’s like to have a mental health condition.

Living Well with Mental Health

Living Well with Mental Health is designed for individuals living with a mental health condition who are on their path to recovery. Participants hear directly from someone with lived experience, sharing that recovery is possible and offering insights into strategies that have contributed to their success.

Mental Health First Aid

We are proud to announce that our team is now certified Mental Health First Aid presenters, equipped to bring this vital training directly to your community. Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based program that teaches individuals how to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health challenges, provide initial support, and guide someone toward appropriate professional help. Whether for workplaces, schools, community groups, or organizations, our trained presenters can deliver this practical, empowering course to help build a more mentally health-literate community. Together, we can break down stigma, foster understanding, and ensure that more people know how to offer a helping hand when it matters most.
